Version
A living product — we keep building based on what users need.
First release
PhotoRname 1.0.0: name list from Excel, automatic photo matching based on timestamp, thumbnail review, bulk rename, CSV export and PhotoMailer for sending by email. macOS build (Apple Silicon + Intel) is notarized by Apple and installs directly. Windows build available as .zip; SmartScreen may show a warning during installation.
License system migrated
Switched to a dedicated license server (bsls) after a bug where a valid license key sometimes fell back to demo mode. Since then, licenses reliably tie to a single computer, with simple deactivate/activate to move them.
Everything in one application
License management, a built-in manual and PhotoMailer merged into one coherent app, instead of separate scripts. The foundation for what later became PhotoRname 1.0.
PhotoMailer added
First version with sending photos by email — developed as a separate experiment alongside the existing rename tool, later merged into the PhotoMailer now built into the app.
First working prototype
The very first PhotoRname prototype: reading RAW files (.cr3) live while shooting and monitoring a folder for new photos, based on EXIF data. No name-list matching, license or PhotoMailer yet — those came later.
